Climate change is the biggest challenge facing Wales for the next few generations and every part of Wales has its part to play in reducing the Nation's carbon footprint. There are two ways of doing this. The first is to cut down on the carbon emissions we produce. The second is to use more renewable energy. Reducing carbon emissions is essential to making sure we can live within our environmental means. Welsh Liberal Democrats in the National Assembly are in the process of securing additional money for fuel poverty programmes that will help those on low incomes to reduce their fuel bills and tackle their carbon emissions.
Welsh Liberal Democrats believe that re-using our waste is one of the best ways of helping the environment. It stops us from having to send our waste to landfill and reduces the cost to councils of Landfill Tax. Every household should have access to free, effective recycling.
