Our Vision for Leisure and Community Services
Welsh Liberal Democrats recognise the crucial role that good leisure and community services play in helping to ensure the health, wellbeing and social cohesion of local communities. Carmarthenshire Liberal Democrats want to see:
- Campaigns to promote healthy living.
- Our parks and open spaces protected, promoted and expanded.
- Partnerships to provide, run and manage community centres, leisure centres, swimming pools, and urban and rural parks. These will involve Town and Community Councils, Community Associations and other organisations in the voluntary and not-for-profit sector.
- Free use of swimming pool facilities for those under 16 and over 60.
- The County's museums protected - there is a need for positive marketing to promote museums for education and tourism.
- The creation of a proactive youth and community development service linked to employment and economic development initiatives.
