The Vueling budget airline has added the destinations Alicante and Palma, Mallorca to Cardiff Airport's roster this summer .The new scheduled services will commence from the end of June.
Welsh Liberal Democrat South Wales Central AM Eluned Parrott said " I welcome these much needed additional routes, it is more important than ever that the Welsh Government now takes the initiative to promote the airport's future.
"It is vital they establish a forum to focus on transport links and marketing for the airport, bringing together relevant people from the Tourism authorities, the airport management, local authorities and transport operators.
"Too often the airport is kicked around as a political football, we need a more joined up approach to benefit all stakeholders.
"It would also be of enormous help to have more detail about the nearby enterprise zone which could bring further economic benefits to the area and the airport."
